Tues., April 14, 2026 - 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. - I lead and play keyboard with the Mile High Jazz Band performing "April in Carson," a big band gig at Gina's Good Life Music & Lounge in the Carson Nugget. Sunday, April 26, 2026 - 4:00 p.m. - I conduct the Carson City Symphony, which presents "Adventures in Music" at the Carson City Community Center's Bob Boldrick Theater, 851 E. William Street in Carson City. The program opens with Rossini's Barber of Seville Overture. Guest soloist Natalie Brooke Higgins will play Reinhold Gliere's Concerto for Horn, Op. 91, with the orchestra. The concert also includes Steven Rosenhaus's Nevada Bagatelles and three movements from Robert W. Smith's Symphony No. 2 (The Odyssey). Sunday, April 26, 2026 - 6:00 p.m. - The Reno Philharmonic's "Play and Sing for a Day" event at Billinghurst Middle School rehearses and performs my arrangement of "Las Chiapanecas."
Tues., May 12, 2026 - 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. - I lead and play keyboard with the Mile High Jazz Band performing a big band gig at Gina's Good Life Music & Lounge in the Carson Nugget.
Sunday, June 7, 2026 - (date/location to be confirmed), 6:00 p.m., I conduct the Carson City Symphony at its "Pops Party Concert" at the Nevada Governor's Mansion, Carson City. Tues., June 6, 2026 - 7:00 p.m. - Mile High Jazz Band performs Jazz-and-Poetry event at Gina's Good Life Music & Lounge in the Carson Nugget.
Saturday, July 4, 2026 - 11:30 a.m. - I play tuba with the Carson Valley Pops Orchestra at Heritage Park in Gardnerville, NV. Saturday, July 4, 2026 - 3:45 p.m. - I conduct the Carson City Symphony in its free performance at the "Genoa Americana Celebration" in Mormon Station Park. Details pending. Tues., July 14, 2026 - 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. - The Mile High Jazz Band performs a big band gig at Gina's Good Life Music & Lounge in the Carson Nugget with guest director.
Aug. 11-14, 2026 - I participate in the SPAH (Society for the Preservation and Advancement of the Harmonica) Convention in St. Louis, MO. I am rehearsing and conducting the Tom Stryker Big Band, an 8-piece chromatic harmonica group. The group also performs one or two of my arrangements. Aug. 14 to Aug. 23, 2026 - Mile High Jazz Band Assoc. presents the 23rd Annual Jazz & Beyond Music Festival - over 20 free events at various locations - see https://jazzcarsoncity.com. Fri., Aug. 21, 2026 - 7:00 p.m. - I lead and play keyboard with the Mile High Jazz Band, performing MHJB's performs annual "Basie Birthday" event as part of the Jazz & Beyond Music Festival (Aug. 14-23).
