Tues., Jan. 11, 2011 - Mile High Jazz Band at Comma Coffee - 8:00 to 10:00 p.m., Admission: $5 admission, FREE age 18 and under. Fri., Jan. 21, 2011 - Eighth annual "Jazz Extravaganza," involving the Mile High Jazz Band and the Carson High Jazz Band. This yearly event raises money to help send the Carson High School jazz performers to music events, such as the Lionel Hampton Jazz Festival in Moscow, Idaho.
Tues., Feb. 8, 2011 - Mile High Jazz Band performs "Jazz Sampler for Sweathearts" at Comma Coffee - 8:00 to 10:00 p.m., Admission: $5 admission, FREE age 18 and under. Sat., Feb. 19, 2011 - The Millennium Bugs play for a wedding at Genoa Lakes Golf Club, Genoa, NV. Sun., Feb. 27, 2011 - I conduct the Carson City Symphony concert called "French Passion" featuring guest violinist Andrew Sords, playing Lalo's "Symphonie espagnole." 4:00 p.m. at the Carson City Community Center. Also on the program are Bizet's "L'Arlesienne Suite No. 1" and Faure's "Dolly Suite."
Tues., March 8, 2011 - Mile High Jazz Band performs "Jazz and Poetry" at Comma Coffee - 8:00 to 10:00 p.m., Admission: $5 admission, FREE age 18 and under. Monday, March 14, 2011 - "David Bugli and Friends" perform for the Carson City Music Club at 7:00 p.m. at the Brewery Arts Center Performance Hall. I perform on piano and tuba, and I am joined by Gil Linsley on trumpet fluegelhorn, Dan Lancaster on reeds, Steve Hayes on guitar, George Worth on bass, and Dennis Steele on drums.
Sat., April 9, 2011 - I perform on tuba with the Ruby Mountain Symphony in Elko, NV, on its program at the Convention Center at 7:00 p.m. Tues., April 12, 2011 - Mile High Jazz Band performs "Jazz and Poetry" at Comma Coffee - 8:00 to 10:00 p.m., Admission: $5 admission, FREE age 18 and under. Sat., April 16, 2011 - I perform on tuba with the Carson Valley Pops Orchestra on its program at CVIC Hall, Minden, NV, at 7:00 p.m. Free admission. Sat., April 23, 2011 - I conduct the Carson City Symphony concert featuring guest harpist Marina Roznitovsky performing works by Camille Saint-Saens and Mario Castelnuovo-Tedesco. 4:00 p.m. at the Carson City Community Center.
Sun., May 8, 2011 - Mothers Day performance by the California Pops Orchestra in Los Gatos, Cal., under the direction of Kim Venaas. The orchestra performs two of my arrangements: "Emily" for harmonica and orchestra (featuring Tom Stryker) and "The Harmonica Player" (version for three harmonicas and orchestra, featuring Tom Styker, Jia-Yi He, and Kim Venaas on harmonica). Also, I perform on piano with a jazz quintet featuring Tom Stryker on harmonica, Noel Weidkamp on flugelhorn, Frank Mendoza on bass, and Gregg Chesson on drums. Tues., May 10, 2011 - Mile High Jazz Band performs at Comma Coffee - 8:00 to 10:00 p.m., Admission: $5 admission, FREE age 18 and under. Thur., May 26, 2011 - I lead an ad hoc big band assembled by Lee Warner at the Silver Legacy in Reno for the Newcomers Club Luncheon.

Mon., July 4, 2011, at 2:00 p.m., Heritage Park, Gardnerville, Nev.- Fourth of July Concert - Carson Valley Pops conducted by Elizabeth Eubanks. I'm performing on tuba. Mon., July 4, 2011, at 4:30 p.m. or so, Sierra Philharmonic League's "Pops in the Park" - Reno Philhamonic Concert. I'm singing as part of the chorus (Carson Chamber Singers and Reno Philharmonic Chorus). Tues., July 5, 2011 - Carson City Symphony performs "Pipes and Rails" concert at Trinity Episcopal Church in Reno as part of Artown. Concert begins at 7:30 p.m. and will feature organist Michael Langham performing Guilmant's Organ Symphony No. 1 with the Symphony. Other parts of the concert are dedicated to railroad-related music, including songs performed by Olivia Hakel. Mon., July 11, 2011 - My composition, "Becoming Mark Twain: Sam Clemens in Nevada," for narrator and orchestra, will be performed by the Reno Pops Orchestra on its "Nevada's Wild West" program at 7:30 p.m. at the Robert Z. Sun., July 31, 2011 - The Millennium Bugs perform for the Carson City Historical Society "Ice Cream Social." Come join the fun on a cool summer evening when the Carson City Historical Society hosts their annual Ice Cream Social. The Ice Cream Social will be held on Sunday, July 31, 2011, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., at Foreman-Roberts House Park, 1207 North Carson St. The Millennium Bugs, with David Bugli, will be performing. Ice cream, cake, cookies, and pie will be available for $3 per person. Woodworking Specialties and their master craftsmen have worked in the area on historic restoration projects. They will be sponsoring a free building clinic for the first 50 children at the ice cream social. The Roberts House will be open for tours. Come and bring the whole family. Fri., Aug. 19, 2011 - I perform on piano with Two Plus on the east side of the Carson Mall, Carson City, from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. This is part of the "Jazz! Carson City" music festival. Free admission. Sat., Aug. 20, 2011 - Mile High Jazz Band plays on Third Street in Carson City for the "Jazz! Carson City" music festival from 8:00 to 10:00 p.m. Admission is free. Sat., Aug. 27, 2011 - I perform on keyboard with the Coin Show Ensemble at the 2011 Carson City Mint Coin Show at the Nevada State Museum from noon to 1:00. Sat., Oct. 1, 2011 - I perform with the Millennium Bugs at John Ascuaga's Nugget in Sparks, NV, from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. for the World War II Pilot's Dinner. Sat., Oct. 8, 2011, at 7:00 p.m., CVIC Hall, Nev.- Concert by the Carson Valley Pops conducted by Elizabeth Eubanks. I'm performing on tuba. Tues., Oct. 11, 2011 - Mile High Jazz Band performs at Comma Coffee - 8:00 to 10:00 p.m., Admission: $5 admission, FREE age 18 and under. Sun., Oct. 16, 2011 - I conduct the Carson City Symphony concert at 4:00 p.m. at the Carson City Community Center. The concert, "American Journey," features guest saxophone soloist Rhett Bender in a performance of American composer Paul Creston's "Concerto for Alto Saxophone and Orchestra." Dr. Bender, is a Professor of Music at Southern Oregon University Department of Music. You can find his website at http://www.sou.edu/music/bender.html. In keeping with the "American Journey" theme, the concert also includes works by two other American composers. Robert Russell Bennett was probably best known for his Broadway and Hollywood orchestrations of musicals, such as those by Richard Rodgers, Irving Berlin, George Gershwin, Cole Porter, and Jerome Kern. His "Suite of Old American Dances" celebrates American regional and ethnically-identified dances. Robert W. Smith's Symphony No. 2 ("The Odessey") celebrates Homer's famed epic, and from that we will perform two movements, "The Iliad (In the Tenth Year of the Trojan War)" and "The Winds of Poseidon." Fri., Oct. 22, 2011 - I perform on bass trombone with Rosebud's Dance Band at the Ghost Walk on Esmeralda Street in Minden, NV, at 6:30 p.m.

Sat., Nov. 12, 2011 - I guest conduct the Ruby Mountain Symphony in Elko, NV, in a "Salute to Veterans" concert. Concert at 7:00 p.m. at the Elko Convention Center. Thurs., Nov. 17, 2011 - I participate on piano at Sparks (Nev.) Middle Schools in a workshop involving the school's jazz band and a number of older players like myself. This was organized by drummer Lee Warner. Registration is at 12:30 p.m. Rehearsal starts at 1:00 p.m. Free concert (open to the public) begins at 3:00 p.m. Sat. & Sun., Dec. 3 & 4, 2011 - The Reno Philharmonic performs my arrangement or "Las Chiapanecas" on their "Spirit of the Season" concerts (7:00 p.m. on Saturday and 2:00 p.m. on Sunday). Sat., Dec. 10, 2011 - I perform on tuba with the Carson Valley Pops Orchestra on its Holiday Program at CVIC Hall, Minden, NV, at 7:00 p.m. Free admission. Sun., Dec. 11, 2011 - I conduct the Carson City Symphony in the 27th Annual Holiday Treat Concert at the Carson City Community Center at 4:00 p.m. The Symphony will be joined on the program by the Carson Chamber Singers and other guest artists. Pre-concert entertainment begins at 3:00 p.m. in the lobby. The concert features seasonal and holiday music in different styles, and the program concludes with the traditional performance of my "A Christmas Singalong." Tues., Dec. 13, 2011 - Mile High Jazz Band performs at Comma Coffee. The band will be joined by Rita Geil and other award-winning poets for an evening of big-band jazz and poetry from 8:00 to 10:00 p.m. The theme of the evening, "Illumination," relates to the holidays and to life. Comma Coffee, 312 S. Carson Street, is across the street from the state legislature building in Carson City.Admission: $5 admission, FREE age 18 and under. Thurs., Dec. 15, 2011 - Zephyrus Brass Quintet, with me on tuba, performs at noon for the Lions Club meeting at Harrah's in Reno. This is the first public performance of the newly revived brass quintet. Sun., Dec. 18, 2011 - Zephyrus Brass Quintet, with me on tuba, will perform at Carson Mall, starting at 1:00 p.m. Some details are pending.
