Saturday, May 17, 2008 - Mile High Jazz
Band and the Carson City Symphony's "Strings in the Schools" program present
a workshop on jazz for young string players at Seeliger Elementary School, Carson City. There
will be morning workshop sessions plus a free performance, open to the public, at 3:30 p.m. I will
be presenting several new arrangements of my own for young string players and big band.
Tues., May 20, 2008 - The Millennium Bugs and vocalist Jakki Ford perform
for Michael Baker Jr., Inc., at the National Automobile Museum
in Reno (private event) - 7 to 10 p.m.

Fri., July 4, 2008 - The Reno Philharmonic and the Carson City Symphony's "Strings
in the Summer" Orchestra perform the premiere of my arrangement of railroad tunes, "I've
Been Fiddlin' on the Railroad," at the Pops in the Park concert at Mormon Station, Genoa,
Nevada, 4:15 p.m.. I will also be singing with the Carson Chamber Singers.

sponsored by the Carson City Historical Society

the "Jazz & Beyond" Festival (which begins at 5:00 p.m.)
Aug. 15-17, 2008 - MHJB and Brewery Arts Center present "Jazz and Beyond" - 5th annual
festival - big bands, combos, jam sessions, food, beer tasting, and more, at
the Brewery Arts Center, 449 W. King St.,

Fri., August 22, 2008 - 5:30 p.m. - Playing at the Governor's Mansion on an 1847 Chickering square
grand piano, recently restored to playing condition. The piano is a gift of the family of
former Gov. Clark Russell to the Mansion. The ceremony was hosted by Nevada First Lady
Dawn Gibbons and members of the Russell family.

Tues., Dec. 9, 2008 - MHJB performs at Comma
Coffee in "Counting on It," a Holiday Jazz and Poetry event. The Mile High Jazz Band
will be joined by award-winning poets Krista Benjamin and Rita
Geil (pictured at left), plus guest readers Susan Sara Priest and Linda Bottoms, for an evening of jazz
and poetry from 8:00 to 10:00 p.m. The theme of the evening, "Counting on It," relates to
holidays and to life. The poets take turns and read a poem before each song is played by the big
band. Comma Coffee, 312 S. Carson Street, is across the street from the state legislature
building in Carson City. General admission is $5 at the door; $4 for members of the
Mile High Jazz Band Assoc.; and free for age 18 and under.
