Tues., May 13, 2008 - Mile High Jazz Band performs at Comma Coffee - 8 to 10 p.m.

Saturday, May 17, 2008 - Mile High Jazz Band and the Carson City Symphony's "Strings in the Schools" program present a workshop on jazz for young string players at Seeliger Elementary School, Carson City. There will be morning workshop sessions plus a free performance, open to the public, at 3:30 p.m. I will be presenting several new arrangements of my own for young string players and big band.

Tues., May 20, 2008 - The Millennium Bugs and vocalist Jakki Ford perform for Michael Baker Jr., Inc., at the National Automobile Museum in Reno (private event) - 7 to 10 p.m.

Sunday, June 8, 2008 - Carson City Symphony Pops Party concert, featuring featuring vocalist Jakki Ford, the Carson Chamber Singers (under Director Judy Monson), and the "Strings in the Schools" Orchestra, at the Governor's Mansion, Carson City., at 4:00 p.m. For details, call 775-883-4154.

Tues., June 10, 2008 - Mile High Jazz Band performs at Comma Coffee - 8 to 10 p.m. - "Jazz and Poetry XVII" - with poets/readers Krista Benjamin, Rita Geil, and others.

Fri., July 4, 2008 - The Reno Philharmonic and the Carson City Symphony's "Strings in the Summer" Orchestra perform the premiere of my arrangement of railroad tunes, "I've Been Fiddlin' on the Railroad," at the Pops in the Park concert at Mormon Station, Genoa, Nevada, 4:15 p.m.. I will also be singing with the Carson Chamber Singers.

Tues., July 8, 2008 - MHJB performs at Comma Coffee - 8 to 10 p.m.

Wed., July 16 - Millennium Bugs, with Jakki Ford, perform for AHEAD Conference President's Reception at Grand Sierra, Reno - 5:30 - 7:00 p.m.

Sat., July 19, 2008 - Millennium Bugs perform for private party in Minden - 7:00 to 9:00 p.m.

Tues., July 22, 2008 - I will be doing a lecture on Carson City composer J.P. Meder at the Carson City Library, 900 N. Roop St., Carson City, NV, at 6:30 p.m. The event is free and is sponsored by the Carson City Historical Society

Sat., July 26, 2008 - "Ribs n' Zin" event at D'Vine Wine, 200 N. Stewart St., Carson City, 4:00-9:00 p.m., tickets are $45. Call 775-882-7766 for details.

Sat., Aug. 9, 2008 - Millennium Bugs play for Ice Cream Social for the Carson City Historical Society at the Roberts House Museum, 1207 N. Carson Ct. Carson City - 6:00 - 8:00 p.m.

Tues., Aug. 12, 2008 - MHJB performs at Comma Coffee - 8 to 10 p.m.

Fri., Aug. 15, 2008 - MHJB performs 6:30 to 8:00 p.m. for opening of the "Jazz & Beyond" Festival (which begins at 5:00 p.m.)

Aug. 15-17, 2008 - MHJB and Brewery Arts Center present "Jazz and Beyond" - 5th annual festival - big bands, combos, jam sessions, food, beer tasting, and more, at the Brewery Arts Center, 449 W. King St., Carson City

Fri., August 22, 2008 - 5:30 p.m. - Playing at the Governor's Mansion on an 1847 Chickering square grand piano, recently restored to playing condition. The piano is a gift of the family of former Gov. Clark Russell to the Mansion. The ceremony was hosted by Nevada First Lady Dawn Gibbons and members of the Russell family.

Sat., August 30, 2008 - MHJB performs "A Tribute to Frank Sinatra" with singer Gary Anthony at the Carson Nugget (first of two shows) - 6:00 - 8:00 p.m.

Sun., August 31, 2008 - MHJB performs "A Tribute to Frank Sinatra" with singer Gary Anthony at the Carson Nugget (second of two shows) - 4:00 to 6:00 p.m.

Tues., Dec. 9, 2008 - MHJB performs at Comma Coffee in "Counting on It," a Holiday Jazz and Poetry event. The Mile High Jazz Band will be joined by award-winning poets Krista Benjamin and Rita Geil (pictured at left), plus guest readers Susan Sara Priest and Linda Bottoms, for an evening of jazz and poetry from 8:00 to 10:00 p.m. The theme of the evening, "Counting on It," relates to holidays and to life. The poets take turns and read a poem before each song is played by the big band. Comma Coffee, 312 S. Carson Street, is across the street from the state legislature building in Carson City. General admission is $5 at the door; $4 for members of the Mile High Jazz Band Assoc.; and free for age 18 and under.

Sunday, Dec. 14, 2008 - Carson City Symphony - 25th annual Holiday Treat concert at the Carson City - Part of the Symphony's 25th season, at the Community Center at 4:00 p.m.
